The Joy Of The Lord

The Joy Of The Lord

A Poem by Michael

Many troubles in life

Has came my way

Guns and knives, shot and thrown

Pain and heartache

I always seem to find

Pills and drinking seemed to rule

Then I met a man

He had scars on his hands

Cleaned out my heart and gave me peace

Stripes on his back

Said he did it for me

Then gave me joy and made me happy

Now I am in debt

I owe my life to him

This man named Jesus, life's about to begin

A new life to live

Free of pain and strife

He even blessed me with a new wonderful wife.

Okay... I thought this was a beautiful tribute to God and really appreciated it for that. But then I read Amber's comment and this became so much more. I can't even find the words right now to congratulate the two of you. To share so much in life, including a corner table at the Writers Cafe. Amazing!

An anthem to a beautiful Savior and the blessing of a good wife.
You're talkin' about the only debt I want to owe.
Heartfelt and meaningful... good write.
