Caught Between Storms

Caught Between Storms

A Poem by Michael Howell
"

I wrote both of these in fifteen minute period of time, when I was stuck inside the van I work in as the rain pounded outside. They go hand in hand in my mind.

"

The sun is

just through this veil

of rain

The sun is

beckoning beyond the line

of living and lying

So rain

rain

go away

Because I'm reaching

and waiting

for the sun

* * *

I wish I could've taken

a photograph

If only I'd known

it'd be the last

And you say exactly who I was

You're holding onto a lifeless star

If only I could see

who you really are

Close your eyes and fall asleep

in his arms.
