Wake UpA Poem by Mike Espinosa
The light shining in
onto my closed, heavy eyelids. The limbs stiff, not wanting to be budged. The mind foggy, unable to comprehend reality from dream. Time has escaped; I'm in my own world, at my own sluggish pace. The muscles whine to be stretched, but the bed won't allow it. The covers laying on me in scattered portions. Warmth leaving, the cool air infiltrating the bed. Time to get up.
