Numb

Numb

A Poem by Mike Espinosa

Oh reality,
where have you gone?
It feels as if you have left
for good.
Is that you there
on the ground before me?
Broken-
shattered into so many pieces?
I'd put you together,
but I am numb.
I cannot feel your presence anymore.
And as the colors of this horrid world fade
I cannot even detect your true shape.
It's funny,
that when you need the most support,
the Earth shatters beneath your feet.
Do you see the ground?
Because I'm falling,
and I cannot.
I cannot take this reality.
I cannot take this world.
I cannot take this place.
But I can take my life
now.
For I am-
Numb.
