A Child's Prayer

I want someone to pinch
I need someone to shove
I want someone to hurt
But Lord, help me to love.

I want someone to bite
I need someone to kick
I want someone to punch
But Lord, help me to forget.

I want someone to hit
I need to pull your hair
I want to take it away from you
But Lord, help me to share.

Help me be the one who gives a hug
And not the one to push
And not the one who picks a lot
So I can gain their trust.

Because these are my friends
I know they'll play with me
And no matter what is said and done
I know they're there when I need them to be!
