HiddenA Poem by Edyne HuckabayA letterHidden You make me put on a face, Of a thousand different lives. Telling them stories, Full of lies. Every night, I go into my room, And cry. Safe, From your prying eyes. Because no matter, How hard I try, You are never satisfied. To the others, You praise them, In shining light. But through judgemental eyes, I am made a mockery, Never knowing why. No matter how hard I try, Crying, Like rivers flowing through my eyes, I can't fight this feeling inside. The feeling of worthless. No hint of pride in your eyes, When you glare at me, With your stone-cold stare. Daring me to say something, Make a move. For you and I know, That even if I tried, I will always be dead inside. So this is the letter, Of my broken pride, That I was always trying to hide. Though I will not, Be hidden again. For fear, That even from this side, Of the world, I too might die, One last time. Sincerely, Your Daughter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Edyne
