There was nothing, just me, until you waltzed into my life and dragged me from the dark, and filled me with life. When you left ... so did my life, and I returned to nothing. Will you be there again?

Pitch black

The same way my life was

until you danced your way in

Empty

The way my eyes were

until you gave me reason to express

Void

The way my heart was 

...when you decided I wasn't enough 

...and left

A lock

Was chained tight around my heart

Keeping memories, reason, and unwanted feelings at bay

To prevent the cold from reaching me

A broom

Endlessly sweeping through my mind

Every place, anywhere, and everywhere

every time you would show up

and I have no way of fighting

Tears

that roll down my cheeks

as heat ran through my body

from my head, arms, legs to my toes

My Life

turned into a ballroom

for us to dance 'till the end of time

My Eyes

covered by false perfection

but discovered to shine true as diamonds

My Heart

filled with warmth that chased the cold away

the same warmth that you brought to me ... 

...In the form of a shining diamond that now rests on my hand

on a starless night

under a full moon 

with the darkness covering us
