Reflection

Look at yourself in the mirror. Is it really yourself? Or do you choose to see what you want to see?

There are always two sides

Yin and Yang

Light and Dark

But when you look down

Can you see yourself?

Your reflection is what you see

But can you say that it is you?

It may seem perfect in every angle

but within yourself 

do you admit that it has cracks?

cracks that are too big to hide

cracks showing every fault

cracks questioning if you really are living the way you want to

I am not perfect

I have scars

but my reflection doesn't show this

Is that why

I don't like reality?

That I persist to stay in a world that I have created myself?

The mirror is only a fraction less than our own eyes, in my opinion. Either image is taken in by our mind and processed. We ourselves ultimately decide what the image means to us.
Just as the saying goes, "We see what we want to see." So we also reflect what we want to see.
Reality over all is subjective to the individual, so in my way of thinking, it's okay to live in what ever world that works for the self. Yet, I believe there is a price for having one's own world. It's the cost we have to put out to accept that if we think other people are crazy for their views of reality, then we must accept being crazy in return for our own. As right or wrong is mute in a subjective world.

The big question this piece really brings out to think upon is that of our own understanding of who we are inside. Can we see it in the mirror, probably not, but the mirror does show us what we dislike about the self of the now.

So I guess in the end of all things, it really just comes down to how much everyone is will to accept, not only in others but in themselves as well.

This makes me wonder... are we really willing to see and is what we so different then what others would see in us ...looking into the same mirror.. That's why I admire the last line... do we choose to just be in our minds eye what we've created in this little space we live in... hmm good thinker lol..x
