I am a ghost ship.

I am a ghost ship.

A Poem by Leah Natalie
"

A poem I wrote last year...

"

We go on without aim,

A ghost ship, sailing, sailing.

Storms churn our waters,

But affects none but thee,

One ship sailing, against, along, united.

Six billion others, sailing, sailing.

Always, going on, sailing, sailing.

Storm clouds on the horizon,

Affects none but thee,

No more do thee sail,

Empty, empty.

Silence.

Ghost ships are always something i have been both petrified of and absolutely amazed with. Such a phenomenon and can be used in such metaphorical ways. Brilliantly executed my friend. Wonderful.

This made me think of a person sailing through life, surviving storm after storm and in the end only a ghost remains. Nice ship shape of the poem as well. It gives the feeling that we are all alone, cold and distant one from another as well.

beautiful play of words and the outer shape of the words, oh the irony! 'We go on without aim' yet the poem is shaped like an arrow! And the ending, 'Silence' invokes a sense of quiet and insightfulness, like the calm after a storm. Simply captivating. A masterpiece.
