A letter to AnneA Story by Leah NatalieThis is an english thing I had to do...basically we had to write a letter to Anne Frank...so heres mine :)Dear Anne Frank, I have recently read your diary. I have to say your story is a powerful one. You were an inspiration from the instant I picked up your diary, it’s no wonder you are so renowned around the world. Your diary taught me that you don’t have to wait one moment to change the world. You have inspired me to start writing again, as I did when I was younger. From reading your diary and doing research I have found out what an amazing person you are. Not only did you remain mostly optimistic, you showed courage, passion and determination. The hope you held so clear in your mind, the hope of the war being over and you being able to breathe the fresh air and feel the rain on your cheeks has shown me how lucky I am to live in a world where I am safe and free. From your story I have taken my own hopes and dreams into question, and I have found that I need to be less selfish. My new hope for my future is that I will be remembered, maybe not by the whole world but by at least one person who will be better off because of my choice of actions. I hope (where ever you are now) that you understand that you will always be remembered. I promise to pass the torch. My grandchildren will read your story and their grandchildren and their grandchildren. Your memory will never fade; your dreams will never die. Anne, the world will learn from your wisdom and suffering and make sure that tomorrow will be a better place. Thank you Anne, for your words, your hopes and your dreams. May you rest in peace. Kindest regards, Leah Natalie Nicholson. © 2011 Leah NatalieAuthor's Note
