Death at Sea

Death at Sea

A Poem by Leah Natalie
"

Another Poem I wrote when I was younger...

"

The captian stood in his peacock stance

spyglass raised at the course to france

the boy in the crows nest gasped with fright

for in the distance ship in sight

Sails raised old and tattered

on the deck the pirates scattered

the Jolly Joger they did raise

there eyes fixed with a demons gaze

"Prepare to board" the pirates roar

while the merchant crew deplore

The would have to try and make a stand

then the pirates swung on sword in hand!

Cannons fired swords clashed

Off went limbs when pirates slashed

pistol shot left many dead

and many a sailor lost his head

decks stained red in the morning sun

ship taken, loot won

until next time prey comes

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Leah Natalie,

Very cretive work, you say this was written when you were younger?

You did a great job here of the all famous rhyme scheme...

None of this poem felt forced or out of place, nicely done. If this is a younger poem, I can't wait to read your new stuff.

Have a great day,

Legacy
