After Math

A Chapter by bea

When we were at school again Lindsay just couldn't believe it. And she couldn't let the topic go either.

"So, what happened between you two? Did you guys have sex? Was it quick and dirty?"

I laughed. "Oh god Linds, is everything about sex with you?" I thought it was obvious that we did but I guess not. Usually I could handle Lindsay's ramblings or her 20 questions but now, I don't know. I feel less inclined to put with her s**t.

"...and he has perfect abs, right? so I bet you had fun. he's every girls dream at this school." Linds kept on talking.

Huh, Linds started talking and I didn't even notice nor pay attention. I bet I could get good at this. Of course I would have to say something sometime so she won't notice that I don't care.

"I need details, Vicky." Linds pleaded then she stopped.

A couple yards in front of us there he was with his whole crew. there was no way to get through without passing by him. Lindsay let out a squeal. "Linds lets go back." I begged.

Lindsay shook her head, determined. "He probably doesn't even remember me." I noticed that one of the most popular girls at school was staring at us. She mouthed the words 'don't even think about it.' All the other girls were to busy staring at him. Linds already started walking.

"Doesn't he have a girlfriend?" I hissed to Linds.

She shook her head. "Him an Cher broke up." Cher was the girl that was staring at us.

"I don't even know his name." I said pouting a bit.

"What? It's Austin!" Linds said a bit too loudly when we were to close to them.

Austin an his group looked at us. Some smiled an some rolled their eyes.

"Are you two freshmen?" One asked.

"Victoria is a sophomore." Austin said.

I tensed Linds giggled. "How did you know?"

"You told me." My face must have had a blank or confused expression on it because he added. "The night of the party..."

I nodded. "Yeah sorry, I just didn't recognize you."

"Oh." He looked disappointed but his friends started to laugh. "Really then you must've fucked a lot of guys at that party then if you can't remember me."

My jaw dropped. I could've died out of sheer embarrassment. Lindsay had already left the scene after he said the word sophomore. So I was alone and I didn't know what to do. I felt my eyes starting to get watery then the tears started to pour down my face. His friends stopped laughing.

"Victoria," he said as he tried to touch my shoulder.

I took a step back. "Don't."

I heard Cher laugh, the I started to run to the girls bathroom.

"It was a joke." Austin called out.

One of his friends I heard say "Not cool, man."

Once in the girls bathroom I collapsed onto the cool tile floor and stated to cry, sob actually.

Some on came in and handed me paper towels. "Thanks." I squeaked.

"Austin could be a real jerk sometimes."  A guy said. One of Austin's friends actually.

He sat there seeing me cry for a good twenty minutes. "I'm so stupid." I said my voice quavering.

He shook his head. "I don't believe that." I looked at him he looked at me, then he kissed me.

"Austin doesn't know what he's missing. I'm Nathan by the way."

just like that he then got up an left, giving me a smile right as he went out the door.

"I'm Vicky." I touched my lips still feeling the warmth of his.
