Time Running Thin

Time Running Thin

A Poem by *Evelen*

Build me up with love

Then break me down

Without a sound

Say your pretty words

To make my hope soar

Only to watch it crash

Back towards the ground

I try so hard to hold onto

That thin line

That holds me to you

I try so dearly

To keep besides you

But as time goes by

The line starts thinning

My heart starts racing

As my fingertips fumble

For that thin line

I know I’m running out of time

Fantastic write! I really liked the idea behind this, and thought that the concept of the 'thin line' was original and well thought-out. I liked the way you developed this idea as the poem progressed, particularly in the last few lines of the poem. The desperation and wistfulness behind the lines 'As my fingertips fumble/For that thin line/I know I’m running out of time' was something that I could really relate to. :) Nice work,
