Not On My Own

Not On My Own

A Poem by *Evelen*

Lips sewn shut

Waiting for them

To be cut opened

Dying to say the words

That just can’t be heard

Tears they fall

When not needed

They’re begging for me

To be set free

For someone to see

My pain

The faces they see

The people they know

The pain in my eyes

Yet no hand offered

To help me from fading

Through time

I watch them with pleading eyes

Yet they are just ignored

These lips they can’t open by themselves

As if I’m just too weak on my own

Just hold your hand out

For me to hold

So I at least know

That you care some what

For the girl with sewn lips

With a voice that won’t shout

Just help me get through this

Cause I can’t on my own
