And sometimes we wonder what if that one thing didn't happen? Would everything else have been different?

Could our paths be different? Could we be a different person altogether? But don't our choices, our decisions make us who we are? They do, right!

And sometimes it's okay to drink a little more and take the long way home.

It really is.

It has a kind of abrupt opening so I would find a way to sort of segway into the line you currently have as your introduction. The piece as a whole has potential and the sentiments of it are very intriguing, but as of right now this reads kind of like a line in a book.
