A Ghastly Suggestion

            A girl had made the mistake of daring to dabble in the supernatural. She had waltzed into the town square, exclaiming:

            “Fear not good people for I will vanquish the demon that terrorizes this town!” Indeed, there was a demon in need of slaying, but nobody expected her to tackle the responsibility, and she was deemed mental for suggesting such a thing. 

            “Blasphemy!” a cry from the galley.

            “Indeed,” another seconded. “We should give her electroshock!”

            “Blasphemy!”

             “Off with his head!” was heard from another. So the good townspeople removed the man’s head immediately, for making such a ghastly suggestion.
