warningsA Poem by bubblesobservations from a trainHere I am sat here on a train Watching the world carelessly fly past As people rush here and there Businessmen in dark suits typing furiously on laptops Shouting down phones reassuring themselves of their importance A girl sitting next to me, reading a book of “life tips” Most probably a scam, its only power manifesting through the
readers beleifs A boy solidly blocking out the world outside with his
earphones embedded in his ears No one seems to notice the glorious world they speed through No one sees the damage of their arrogance No one sees the warnings No one seems to notice the perfect balance of nature Supposedly maintained by human ingenuity The trees and bushes bending and adapting to human
“progress” Brushed aside by man’s impatience. Houses stubbornly built in seemingly inaccessible places, Just because we won’t to, Just because we can Like a spot on natures perfect plan I see a small bunch of flowers. Fighting threw the gravel and constant harassment of humane
trains Fighting to show some beauty in the long lines of barren
wasteland created by the arrogance of mankind Thinking we can control and master all we see Without consequence Without mature fighting back An illusion of power An illusion of power soon to be broken Because nature fights back It tries to show us that we are wrong That we cannot continue this way This small bunch of flowers standing proud like a warning Nature never gives up Nature will always win But we ignore these warning Both ones as harmless as a flower And those as terrible as a flood Or the thousands of lives she claims threw disease and famine No matter how severe the warning human arrogance prevails but its to late now the warnings have been given and ignored wen the end comes we will realise we created this we brought this on
our arrogant selves we destroyed this world now its fighting back and only then might we learn © 2010 bubbles |
