impossible to rememberA Poem by bubblesa poem inspired by tv news about remembrance Sunday. and war stories.
How can we remember what we have never seen? The flashes of glorious gunfire The brotherhood of men The falling of villains The rats nibbling at and the torn bodies of friends How can we remember what we have never felt? The hatred and the anger The loss and the regret The fear for those we protect The despair and helplessness of defeat The glory of bloody heroes How can we remember? We were not there We could not see Hear, Feel or Smell. How can we show respect when we can never understand How can we honour those who faced The evils of war? We cannot remember. We must remember. © 2009 bubblesAuthor's Note
