impossible to remember

impossible to remember

A Poem by bubbles
"

a poem inspired by tv news about remembrance Sunday. and war stories.

"

How can we remember what we have never seen?

The flashes of glorious gunfire

The brotherhood of men

The falling of villains

The rats nibbling at and the torn bodies of friends

How can we remember what we have never felt?

The hatred and the anger

The loss and the regret

The fear for those we protect

The despair and helplessness of defeat

The glory of bloody heroes

How can we remember?

We were not there

We could not see Hear, Feel or Smell.

How can we show respect when we can never understand

How can we honour those who faced

The evils of war?

We cannot remember.

We must remember.

WOW! That was just beautiful to read. It was very emotional. It is true, It comes from our lives today as well as those lives lost in battles of illness...and in war. We truly never understand what we have or what it feels like until we are gone and its too late. I guess we need to make changes and realize what we have. To be strong and to remember what we do not know. What we do not see. What we do not hear. WE need to reach out and help the ones fighting. So we can end there suffering. I really did enjoy this =) quite wonderful

AS always great job!

A great representation of the question that must flood many people's mind as they pay there respects in which ever way they choose. Its a very powerful piece and i love the ending the sorta desperation in the requirement to need what cannot truely be had as we where never there to exprience the true destrucion ot war fair but only hear tales of the torture
