ABC's of Fading

ABC's of Fading

A Poem by Kayla

Anger in people's eyes.

Broken promises.

Crying until you can't cry any longer.

It all fades.

Deciding what you should do when something bad happens.

Ending trust with someone.

Fighting with people.

It all fades.

Gasping at horrible things.

Having to do things you shouldn't have to.

Incredibly bad experiances.

It all fades.

Jumping from one house to another.

Keeping secrets that you shouldn't.

Leaving important things behind.

It all fades.

Making tough decisions.

Not knwing what is gonna happen next.

Owing your life to someone.

It all fades.

People saying stuff about things they have no idea about.

Questioning your own mother.

Racing thoughts of bad times.

It all fades.

Stopping to think: What else can go wrong?

Telling people that you're about to give up.

Understanding that there is nothing else you can do.

It all fades.

Vulnerable to anything.

Wondering if you're still gonna have a home in a month.

X-ing out bad times.

It all fades.

Young siblings asking if everything is going to be ok.

Zebra looking like a cheetah is what I feel like.

Out of place.

It all fades.

The only thing that doesn't fade?

How hurt my sister and I were.

And broken hearts.

Those don't fade.

Considering your age and experience this is amazing work. You managed to tie everything together very well. This piece is thoughtful and perceptive and certainly evocative of sympathy.
I really like it.

seem very wise for the age
if you never told me
i would never known
as it does fade but it takes
wise of age to know that

never stop writing
perfect only gets better

Wow, it's amazing what you can do with the alphabet. I can't even spell my name right. Yeah, it's all true what you're saying in this poem. Life is totally this way... yeah I'm like 12, but I've been through this stuff. I honestly like this piece... makes me think of reality. It's very descriptive, I actually feel like I'm there.
