The BalconyA Poem by HviskeThis poem is dedicated to one of my best friends and an old part of my life.the balcony
We sat there everyday on that balcony We watched clouds float by on a bright spring sky We practicley melted on to the street below during the blistering summer heat We welcomed the oranges yellows and reds of fall We even soaked up the wonderful winter chill We talked about everything girls talked about in their teen years Our hearts stopped every time a car drove by thinking just thinking about who was the mystery driver On that balcony we spent hours ,minutes ,seconds..... We played card games and then made up new ones We where so reckless We didnt care about the time... We forgot about there being a tommorow But then one day for one reason or another you had to move And then our friendship wasn't the same We lost that glue that bonded us But the funny thing is that you didnt leave the country Or state Or city Not even our neighborhood Although we rode the school bus together and went to the same church and you would come over for lunch and I for dinner We rapidly fell apart The only thing that had held us together was lost The balcony © 2009 HviskeReviews
