Trust

Trust

A Poem by Hviske

You're worried because now you can't sleep at night
It becomes so strong you've lost your appetite
It's terrifying how strong and hard you fall
So around your fragile heart you build a wall
He doesn't understand why there is so much distance
You reply "these words you must listen."
"My heart has been broken too many times,
I don't know if I'm ready to cross this defining line"
He slowly replies "We'll start slow."
"Don't worry we'll follow our own flow."
So that's how it begins
Your heart he begins to win
Slowly but surely the pieces that were once apart
Well, they begin to mend your heart
All you can ask yourself when will it all end?
Will it be when my heart is finally on the mend?
But he makes your insecurities rust,
you finally remember how to trust.

This has a good message to it. Trusting someone is never easy after going through past trials. After the 10th line, the poem lost its flow for me. The meter takes a change and the words become kind of unnatural sounding. I'm sure others will disagree though.
