About him #1

About him #1

A Poem by Michelle Wallace

Harboring thoughts twirling through my tormented mind,

I lay awake thinking of you.

Of the words you uttered from your lips.

Soft precious moments that I tore from your mouth

and etched into my brain.

I can't dream without you invading my every vision.

Even asleep I think of you.

I keep telling myself that I am torturing my heart.

This beating, bleeding muscle

that skips every time I see you.

I push past these feelings and smile when you speak of other women,

about how much they love you.

It must be a curse to be loved like that.

I wish I was so lucky.

But no,

instead I'm stuck in this dimension of cast away toys

that are not loved like you are.

How can you not see the love that radiates for you?

How do you not notice when I stare at you?

Stealing seconds to paint your smile into my mind

so I can replay it when I am about to sleep

so I can dream of you all over again.

This is very beautiful Michelle..a true rendering from the heart.
Defined...described and delivered...you make the reader feel your anguish...and that's a good thing.
