Life Minus Spark

Life Minus Spark

A Poem by BrokenWingedPhoenix

Moss covered stone, ivory blind wire.

Bring me your old, your sick, and your tired.

Alone they will walk, in the wet cold dark…

Till the day that their minds will startle and start.

These walls are unyielding, the tortures unspoken…

No one escapes, they don’t even bother.

The darkness abounds them, keeps sin on his thrown.

Not knowing and wanting, but only your soul.

The moon shall not greet them, the irony is cold.

You send them, I take them, and no one will know.

All are welcome on this dark lonely walk,

Some are accepted, while others are not.

In rooms they will stutter and quiver and shake,

Acceptance is waiting, their lives are at stake.

The day of the culling is close at hand…

Until they accept Him, alone they will stand.
