Inside Out

Inside Out

A Poem by BrokenWingedPhoenix

Upside down on pane of glass,

Always knowing that this too shall pass.

Soaring through the air on an umbrella stem,

Praying and hoping for a faithful hymn.

Floating on a river of mustard yellow love,

Wondering what lies in the sweet up above.

A child you will be, ‘til you can’t be no more,

Reading and writing of a sweet sallow gore.

Along the way I lost you, your soul no longer mine.

Yesterday, I thought I saw you in the apple bottle wine.

Starring out the window, yelling at the moon…

Today I told Him that I hope you come back soon.

Sacrifices made so you could have it all,

And yet another year and no one had a Fall.

One day I hope to meet you, but I have always known,

That what I see looking back at me, are all the years now passed and gone.
