My dearest love…

Visions of adoration and devotion, filling my heart with amity,

Lofting and churning, the sweet smell of your morbidity indication.

Love is an obsession, fascination, a macabre fixation,

Which deluges the very soul.

You once chose to confiscate your affection for me,

Conveying such sorrow and bittersweet agony.

Now you will forever lie in postponement,

In your gruesome, ghastly, repugnant indignation...

In a heart which love will never know.

Hi, Phoenix. That's a pretty cool handle you have.
I liked this piece, you convey an intensity of emotion that is very engaging. I also like your playful facility with words, the way you make them tumble off the page. The poem has a singsong quality when read aloud that belies the hardcore images and emotions that are used. This juxtaposition is, for me, very compelling.

Thank you kindly. :) I chose the name because, like most, I've been through a lot and although I have arisen out of destruction, I am better but broken. The was inspired by Poe, I read a lot of his work yesterday and he is very inspirational.

Ahhhh...so we have something in common. I dimly remember reading Poe but, being a teenager, I found it a bit archaic. His life story is, however, compelling. I will send you a read request of a poem I think you will enjoy (no obligation to actually read). Seeya!
