All Hallows Eve

All Hallows Eve

A Poem by BrokenWingedPhoenix
"

A little poem in the spirit of Halloween.

"

Brooding, pondering, pensively waiting

For things that can spook and give you a fright.

The Harvest moon howling, growling and swaying,

Wonderment echoing, filling the night.

Goblins trot ‘round the open cold fire,

Dread creeping in, demands to expire.

Enflamed golden heads, no figures attached,

Grinning and cackling a chorus of foes.

‘Round the gray corner stalks a corpse in repose,

Stumbling and wailing, flesh exasperating.

Amid the murky sky, an enchantress glides nigh,

Beguiling and slinking, amidst melodic delight.

Skeletal hands entwined in trepidation,

Reaching and stretching to touch thy sweet face.

Child do not fear, for the night is concluding,

The dawn is arisen on this All Hallows Eve.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. I love Halloween too.
Perfectly capturing the essence of this bizarre ritual we eagerly cling to.
