Leaving Footprints In A CloudA Poem by Michelle GentHaving a good day
Leaving Footprints In A Cloud-
I took a cloud home today elevated, suspended, surreal It's not often the elevator drops me at the penthouse A pugilist frequently beating myself senseless in the basement Nursing self inflicted wounds Emotions an erratic kaleidoscope changing But for now an elated skyscraper Prominent architects stabilized a teetering frame Reinforcing a fragile ego An alter ego erect Inflated No longer able to get through a tiny door frame Diminished confidence replaced In tact, in fact Propped atop a balcony Where the view is phenomenal I bask in my own sunshine Highlighting a resurrected skyline © 2015 Michelle GentAuthor's Note
