Ode to my Aunt Dorothy

She Who Took Me Under Her Wing-

She who gave me new direction
She who gave me sisters
She who gave me a voice and validation
She who is my mother's sister

She who treated me like her very own daughter
She who was the underdog, understood me
Because I was a sister in her cause
She who loved me unconditionally

She who was always there for me
Turning her home into my safe haven
Her kitchen into my pulpit
Letting me place my heart on her shoulder

She who was my surrogate mother
She to whom there is no other
She my guardian angel on earth
She who is my beloved Aunt Dorothy
