Wonderment of YouthA Poem by Michelle GentLiving vicariously through a child's eyes
Wonderment of Youth-
Clouds of pink cotton candy Billowing gracefully by and by Gracing me with their presence whirling, twisting, swirling A child's whisper's taken on the wind Sunday's summer play date spent vegging at the park Watching children and friends Merry go rounds spinning in a frenzy in a hurry a flurry a blur Careless abandon gifts to children A candied bracelet once eaten forgotten Nearby little rough and tumblers About to test their strength Swinging recklessly upside down Hair tousling, turning, touching the ground No signs stopping anywhere in sight Getting increasingly closer to twilight Barreling down slide like a shell from a gun they fly No agenda to keep Nor sand in hour glass counting down time Just sand in a box building castles to the sky © 2015 Michelle GentAuthor's Note
