Sequoia-
When thinking of you darling I envision a tree Strong, sturdy, roots planted firmly Swaying to imposing storms I can't resist impulse to scale your limbs And be encompassed in cradling boughs My buttocks and elbows nestled Comfortably in your palm Rustling leaves whisper to me A netted hammock shifts, reaching for my hand Encouraging a peaceful refrain Inviting me to lie down In your shade I find solace Under your canopy I feel safe Comforted from life's irritations And fast pace You the beginning I the middle Our daughter the end And fruition of your seed Each ring a catalog of family history Spiraled for the world to see The love you give is oxygen Breathing new life into us Allowing us to thrive and flourish © 2015 Michelle Gent |
