untitled 03A Story by michelle-entendu
I awoke to the sound of sirens. I’m drifting in and out of this semi-conscious state as my realities blur with images of the past. I remember that day when I stood on the beach and saw the tides swallowing the sand with graceful force. I’m just a grain of sand, a weathered part of an ancient shell that broke into a million fragments. We’ve been thrown around the depths by raging storms and we’ve fought against currents to reach the surface. Now we rest quietly on the shoreline where the waves gently wash over our delicate remains while we breathe in the warmth of the sun.
