the healer

the healer

A Poem by Michael Kerr

the healer,

to be him is to have a gift,

a curse,

as he goes through life,

he looks,

looks for the wounded,

the hurt,

the hateful,

the sick,

the dying,

as he touches them,

he unburdens them,

taking and put their pain onto his self,

for he wish not to let them suffer,

but to enjoy life,

each time he does this,

he dies,

killing his self at the expense of everyone else,

why does he do this,

why kill himself,

why take the pain of others,

he knows he's killing himself,

why..........

because he cares

I really like this piece. If you read my poem Care Taker, you will know that i have been the guy you speak of, at least with broken hearts. I don't know if you intended for it to be Christian based, but i had a huge sense that it might. I really enjoyed reading this.

It does remind me the same movie, and that before reading the review ;-)- I think the poem simple and effective, its like a deep breath you're trying to take knowing you'll suffocating. Really nice.

It's fantastic the way it is, it reminded me of the movie The Green Mile.. I enjoyed the idea and the sad realisation that his gift is also his demise. Thanks for sharing.
