what is love

i want to ask you, what is love?

what is love,

what is it,

is it just a word,

is it a feeling you get inside your gut,

is it an emotion,

 

what is love,

many people have defined this word,

i love my family,

i love my friend,

i love my girlfriend,

i love my wife,

i love my house,

i love my job,

 

i thought i knew what love was,

she left me to break,

she left me broken,

 

i though love meant,

giving up everything for that one you love,

taking nothing,

doing whatever it takes to make that other person happy,

putting their needs first,

putting their problems on your back,

 

as i sit here broken,

i wonder what love really is.

It is an age old wonderment Mike. After being married for 19 years...there are many times I wonder myself. Very good writing. Good flow and you call attention to a nagging question that eats at all of us. You are doing good sir. Two typos...Add a t in thought and break...not brake...that is what is done in a car. I think your doing a great job. Keep your chin up. Things will get better, I promise.
