no rest for the wearyA Poem by Michael Kerrbleeding as i lay here i am bleeding my commarads lay there not died but look to be lifeless as if they are died i still have time i still have the energy i must get up i must fight for them or at least try i will make my stand for them for those of them i like and for those i dislike i will fight this will be my stand as i c**k back the chamber i aim and fire and the first dies now i am standing but no time to think i must do for if i am to save them i must think quickly i throw a grenade three die screaming in pain i jump to the wall and fire around the corner i feel my hearts beginning to slow i am about to die but not yet i must not fall now sounds and images alike begin to blur i take a bullet to my right shoulder and then my right leg the stinging pain begins to pump my heart again my gun stop click click no ammo so i take my knife and i run towards him as he fire bullet after bullet all going into to me but i can no longer feel the pain and i lung it into to him and then rip it out cover in my own blood and the blood of my enemy i prey to god for more time because most are died and few remain i take the enemys gun and run at there group i hope this works i hope i save them tear run down my face for what i do but if i have saved there life it will have been enough and i kill them as i take in more bullets i fall to my knees and prey to god the lords payer then i fall and i die © 2008 Michael Kerr |
