Cat

Cat

A Poem by Michael Oliver
"

Waiting for a friend to come yesterday morning there was a cat sitting in the long grass at the bottom of my garden in the fine rain

"

Sharp the ear point of concentration

- blue fur - turned and silhouette tuned

On wet grass - drip laden- posed

- a shape - the task - silence fixes

This infinitesimal rain - a quiet -waits

Now gone - bright green - no cat

Michael Oliver,
Did I miss something? At first I think a cat is maybe hunting in wet grass with just it's ears showing. Wet grass the kitty is hunting and finds it's prize then is gone................Anyway it thoroughly fun to read. Thanks..........Kathy

what a portrait...blue cat...sounds like a russian short hair...like the use of silence throughout...we don't hear them...they stalk in silence...they move without sound.

I get a chuckle from this. I can visualize this cat all prepared and in tuned for the hunt in the thick grasses only to be turned from the predator to the prey of a spring rain... LOL
