Departure

Departure

A Poem by Michael Oliver
"

an attempt at a form of renga

"

He goes

Not walking away

- yawning -

Content as purity

- a ritual possession -

- not letting go -

spring afternoon

- sunshine -

Days unseasoned in his checked jacket

The yellow Palace

- pool-

- fallen petals -

- pink -

Dropped soft

as trees reflection

Lay on grass

Drift on ripples

Held by the surface blue sky

I know nothing of form, but this slipped in the mind like water to rock, a life format penetrated with source..exellent piece

Renga just means 'linked verse' the mand is leaving - the leaves are falling leaving the trees etc

Thank you for the clarification, I will look into this style more.
tough form...but this poem flows like a waterfall...and drips with intense imagery...

strong feeling emerges.

Simple words painting a picture. I think you made a good job of this renga.

I like capturing the world in various mediums for a long time I was a painter, but more recently I realize the same imperative can be used to direct words as well as brushes. more..
