Thee Darking of the days

Thee Darking of the days

A Poem by Michael Oliver
"

Observations of this time of year

"

In the wind lives a memory

A twanged tension of filament clouds

At first plucked " hums " note alert

Blown with the morning’s chill edict

Wind discarding the last feint lingering

The fatal tear of Autumns veil

Reveals harsh violence the winter’s nascence

Of lights new spite of innocence

Gone soft seasons of published plutocracy

Where models poised their invited seductions

Of once fingertip pleasure and revelation

Drew Ayres from insect dusted blooms

The full moons frosts the roofs

Falling leaves stopped " caught in air

A Robin pouted against the day

Fixed " under a neutral blue sky

From the swirl of vortex leaves

A closed farewell rattle at parting

Wind tossed " they lie " alone " decay

In today’s eternity- and melt away

I like capturing the world in various mediums for a long time I was a painter, but more recently I realize the same imperative can be used to direct words as well as brushes. more..
