The lark ascending - thoughts from an English churchyard September 2012A Poem by Michael Olivera lyric piece

In autumns slow warmth Zephyrs mild dialogue A theme birds improvise The shadows capture All this Platonic harmony Defies the telling A butterfly settles drinks In reflective sunlight 2 Flowers cover the grave Ashimmer with breeze Caught chills of light Tremble to nature A prayer and remembering Blown to where? Its nod to community Melts to infinity 3 The halo of reflection Spur a speculation A few white lines Articulate a history Fade from the hidden At the recall A life thus traced By days certainty © 2014 Michael Oliver |
