Something about dawnA Poem by Michael OliverThis has been lurking somewhere in my mind for about thirty years
Out there sky unfurls into day time
Recalls a sunrise of youths first touching As abstraction whorled into a sensation presented A dawn on fire with it's proof Air orange with the flags burnished ascendance The night wept tears kissing the mist As cattle continued grazing on the familiarity While, golden, Asavins leaped from the page The sun heraldic, tipped the poised balance Sheet of waking shone across the stillness The land opened its bird song arms Embraced the union promised by days enchantment © 2013 Michael Oliver |
