about my drunkeness

A Poem by Michael Oliver
"

my closest friend my ability to get drunk a lot was sign f weakness thus another '83

"
                                                                  a liquid moon
                                               who escapes it's order
                                                     a sure view
                                               splits it's instant gem

                                                    mouth it's song
                                               lost to vain dusk
                                                    now John now
                                               fix this shining plot

                                                    on cool reflection
                                               beyond morning your face
                                                    time within space
                                               constant shadow ever light

                                                    slowly you hatch
                                               fold unfold kiss rejoin
                                                    the single note
                                               at play with me

"About my drunkeness"
Michael Oliver,
Alcohol is the tricky substance which people love to hate. It is lovely in the glass:"
A liquid moon who escapes it's order
a sure view splits it's instant gem."
The contents when taken will have it's expected end.
"mouth it's song
lost to vain dusk"
It does not leave quickly but will stay till morning:
"on cool reflection
beyond morning your face'
Awakens with you:
"slowly you hatch
fold unfold kiss rejoin
the single note
at play with me"
This was a walk through your experience. Quite revealing too.
It was a lesson in the reality of drinks effect on the human phyche and I know it is different for everyone. Iv'e not experienced this aspect of life so It was good for me to be reminded of this on behalf of others.
Blessings to you.
Kathy

This is an interesting piece.
And, it's got my name in it!

I am running out of superlatives to apply to your poems - this is exquisite! The last verse is a lesson for us lesser poets. Thank you Michael.
