The Worst Thing That Happened

The Worst Thing That Happened

A Poem by MichaelGrisby

The worst thing that happened

We did not happen

Late nights, wet napkins

Alcohol becomes my attraction

Drinking to temporarily escape

Liquor subsides and reality becomes awake

My feelings for you constantly show

You’re my drug

I want to overdose

Into a comatose

The light from the T.V.

Gleams off my .44 Magnum

Anonymous in my letter

No one will know

But,

Just so you know

I love you, so…

I'm kind of confused at the second line, i guess it was the word choice... but interesting poem

I think every one of us has felt the terrible pain of rejection and despair. Feeling like it's the worst thing that happened to us...when in retrospect things could be worse then the loss of a love that perhaps wasn't even meant to be. Good luck
