Lost BoyA Poem by Michaela MoerkeWhat do you do when you are lost and alone?
The boy will stare at the ground, wondering where his path had disappeared to When had he veered off the track? He thinks to himself, hoping that he can find his way back Off in the distance he can see others like him, but they're walking with confidence They know where they're going, and why, and when The boy, with his fists clenched, thinks in fury “How could this be my fault?” He ponders, blaming his misfortune on the lack of help He'd rather believe that it was somebody's fault that wasn't his own But he doesn't understand Not everyone can be held Many have found the path on their own, Or made a whole new passage So the boy keeps walking, Confident that his rough footprints will make another course He doesn't want to appear as a lost fool, so he pretends he knows where hes going The boy doesn't care, he will go where the wind takes him And he will know, yes he will feel it deep in his bones, when he gets to where he was supposed to be Because no one is ever lost, Just not yet discovered
