Untitled 23

Untitled 23

A Poem by Michael Hess

There's a fire in your eyes

Begging to know why

Nothing is quite going your way.

You're walking to the station

To catch a train out of town.

You're looking for a new island

Before this one drowns.

You can't run from the past,

No matter how fast you go.

But I'm right here beside you,

I just wanted you to know.
