Why Won't You Go?A Poem by Michael HessThursday, February 19, 2009 12:17 A.M.
I get out of bed, Light up a cigarette, Rub my headache away. I've had a hard time Tryin' to get you off my mind. You just won't go away.
Why won't you go? Please just go. Why won't you go? I need to move on.
Drivin' down that road, Not knowin' where to go, Just as far from you as I can. One hand on the wheel, Why can't I heal, Heal the damn hole in my heart?
I'm doin' too much drinkin', Doin' too much thinkin'. It hurts me all the same. I can't erase memories, I can't erase anything, Not even your name.
Why won't you go? Please just go. Why won't you go? I want you to go.
I'm with this new girl. She's not what you were. She's drivin' me up a wall. I'm so sick of her bullshit. I'm ready to just quit This fucked up game of love.
All this damn drinkin' And all this damn thinkin' Have got me livin' the past. I gotta change my ways, Need to look for better days. Life goes by too fast.
Why won't you go? I want you to go. Why won't you go? I need you to go. © 2009 Michael HessReviews
