Alysha's Song

Alysha's Song

A Poem by Michael Hess

9:28 A.M.

We're goin' through hard times,

But I'll stay by your side.

We haven't known each other long,

But we make our own good times.

When will you let me in?

I want to know your thoughts.

I want to see your feelings.

They're all a person's got.

You don't know me well,

But there's things I wanna tell you.

You caught me when I fell,

But you just won't let me help you.

I'm your Johnny, you're my June.

I'll always be there.

I hope you see me here soon.

I'm not goin' anywhere.

I walk the line

Through the ring of fire.

When we chill together,

You lift me up higher.

Your eyes shine blue,

Mine shine a little green.

We'll chill at the Ladner house.

I'll make you feel like a queen.

Sittin' out by the pool,

Playin' that damn game inside.

It's always so much more fun

With this pretty girl by my side.
