Untitled 5

Untitled 5

A Poem by Michael Hess

It's the way you look inside me

And the way you hold my hand.

It's the way you lie beside me

And tell me I'm your man.

It's the way we're drivin' down the road.

Your hair is blowin' in the wind.

You kiss me and say you won't let go

And you'll be there till the end.

It's the way you fit into my arms

And the way you wear your head.

I will always keep you from harm

And you'll keep me in your bed.

I will always be here for you,

And I will wipe away your tears.

And I will always tell you the truth

And hold you through your fears.

I know

What we could be.

You don't

Know how you see in me.

I know

What we could be.

You don't

Know how you see me.

It's the way we stayed up all night

Just to hear each other's voices.

I'm sorry for the things I've said lately.

I apologize.

It's the way that you're my best friend

And I know you're always there.

And I never want us to end.

We've been through so much together.

I know

What we could be.

You don't

Know what you see in me.

I know

What we could be.

You don't

See what we could be.
