Women Sweat...

Women Sweat...

A Poem by Michael G

Women Sweat...

Let's get sweaty...
Just hot,
... and sweaty.

Time just goes on
as we get lost together,
lost to anything and everything
but us...
... with each other.

The shadows of the day
slowly glide around from one side of the room
to the next...
and the light slowly fades
leaving shadows and shades of dark Gray,
broken now by the candles
flickering from the tables.
The ceiling fan
slowly turning.

Left with our own measures of time
Our laughter...
our playfulness,
the spoken...
and the unspoken words...
the looks...
the stares from half closed eyes...
and the ones seemingly adrift...
with thought...
passion...
and our sweat.

Women sweat...
thank God they sweat.

Your hair
damp with your desires...
and your needs...
sticking to your forehead,
your neck...

The beautiful glisten
of your body
from your fingertips
down to your toes,
as it meshes
and moves with mine...
and then away from me...
then back again....
over and over... without thought
except for the joy
you are bringing...
and receiving.

Dampened sheets
sticking to our skin...
warm, wet drops
dripping from our chins...
wiped out of eyes...
sliding down your ribs,
forming,
then slipping down
between your breasts...
a pool forming in you belly button.

The salty taste of your/my body...
blending in and becoming
the flavor of us...
our flavor of the day.

Women sweat...
thank God they sweat.

And in the afterglow...
knowing this is just the first
of many days
and nights of sweat....
we move easily
toward... with
each other,
and sleep.
