It's about my experience with love and my apologies for what my spouse is going through.

I see you for everything you are.
I adore you up close and from afar.
You kissed me on everyone of my scars.
I appreciate everything you do even when you think I don't see,
I see you.
At times I know it feels like things won't change.
Or how this got out of hand and both our hearts feel deranged.
How sometimes two lovers who lie close can feel so estranged.
I've made promises and broken those. I lied and given up on them; I've wore our patients thin.
I knock us down only to get up again.
However the endeavor I swore I will keep.
No mountain too steep.
Lions will roar and there will always be sheep.
My words may seem desolate and at times cheap.
I will always love you,
I continue to fight this battle with myself.
One day it'll be behind us, collecting dust on the highest shelf.
See me for all the light I walk in. I rejoice to the sound of your voice...
I thank you for everything you are.
I kiss you and cherish all your scars.
Even when you don't think I see,
I see you.

"....You kissed me on everyone of my scars. ...." It is good that you've seen to that deep level. Not easy for one to accept you and your flaws "Scars". Nevertheless... your poem is a bend, a wave, two flows connected by one path, you and the other person. You praise, you apologize, you repent, you take the stead, you became the other person just to correct the past. You are ready. You are made perfect by that love of your life. And that person is seen in YOU.
