Night

I got lost among the stars in the evening sky,

and fell in love with the way the moon shines at night.

Now it saddens me when the light of the sun brings the dawn of day,

for the love of my life must fade away.

The stars grow faint as the sun rises above the horizon,

and the moon hides herself from the sun for she is too shy to be seen by him.

My soul shatters to watch the sun’s light slip through the cracks of the trees,

my heart breaks to not inhale the aroma of the evening breeze.

It torments me to not hear the sound of the crickets sing hello to the night,

it devastates me to not see the moon’s light.

If only the night would never say goodbye,

then in happiness I would always remain.

But, for now until the night comes, I will wait.

I will wait until my love comes back again.

I will wait for the light of day to end.
