FallsA Poem by miahstr
It was not at first the rushing of water which lured me. It was the sound it made falling off the edge of cliffsides; the urgency in its motion and the mist that swallowed me whole. However, it was the falling that stood out. Something which I have an affinity for. When I was a kid I fell off the monkey bars. As a young man I fell in love. As I grew older the falling became more frequent and as I matured and life took its hold; I started falling apart. I can’t say when the moment was I had decided but it was the rushing of water which drew me there. It was the falling that stood out when the water embraced me. It was the edges of cliffsides that I last saw.
